Our Dorm Verses- Spring '09

"For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love."

Ephesians 4:12-16

Some things to think about...

Hello, girls! Some food for thought. :) This year our dorm theme is going to be "Being an Example". Ok, so, yeah yeah, we have ALWAYS been told to be an example, right? Well, as a Christian, what does being an example look like? How do I live out being an example in my own life? What should my motivation be behind being an example? Pleasing others and getting praise, or pleasing the Lord? Those are some of the questions that we will be answering this semester. I hope it will be a challenge and encouragement to you, as it already has been for me as I have prepared it. :)

Are you here yet?!?!?!?!

Hello, my girls! I am so excited for you to finally get here! :) I am praying for all of you! If you have any questions, please just e-mail me at hmcgrail@mbbc.edu.

Kayla Heaton's Dad Got Saved!

Those who were in Weeks this past year know that one of our girls, Kayla Heaton, was praying for her dad, who was diagnoised with cancer this past semester, to get saved. Kayla just wrote me an e-mail to let me know that he has accepted the Lord as his personal Lord and Savior! What a blessing! Please keep Kayla's dad in prayer as he still is fighting the cancer and needs to find good health insurance that will help him get the treatments he needs before the cancer spreads more.

We love you, Kayla, and are praying for you and your family! :)

Welcome to Weeks Dorm!

Hi, I would like to welcome all of you to our Dorm. On behalf of all the girls in Weeks, we are very excited about this coming fall when you will join us. We are really excited to meet you gals face to face in the fall, but we want to start getting to know you now! :) That is the purpose of this BLOG. We want to get to know you, and we want you to get to know us! I have placed pictures of all the returning students so you can see what we look like. I have indicated who is the Dorm Sup, (ME!) who is a RA, (Floor leaders) and who is a PC. (Room leaders) Each of you will come in with one of these PC's as your room leader, and one of these RA's will be taking care of your whole floor. Hopefully seeing our pictures will help you be a little more at ease when you get here.

I would love to eventually get all of your pictures up here as well. We want to be able to recognize you as well when you get here! So, if you can, please e-mail me your picture at hmcgrail@mbbc.edu, I will get them up here as soon as I have can.

The way that we will communicate with each other on this BLOG is through the comment section. I will post something, and I would love for EVERYONE to comment, returning students AND new students. Please write your full name, as we do have a couple people with the same first names. If you indicate your last name, then we will know who it is. :) You may ask, "How do I comment on a post?" Here are the 5 easy steps for you.

HOW TO COMMENT

1. Click on "Comments" (This is located at the bottom of EACH post. Pick the post you would like to comment on and find it's "comments" link)

2. Type in what you would like to say in the "Leave Your Comment" section.

3. Type in the "Word Verification". (Just type in what letters/numbers are in the box for verification)

4. Type your name into the "Username" (No password is neccessary, just leave it blank)

5. Click "Publish Your Comment"

Make sense? I hope so! If you have any questions, please e-mail me at hmcgrail@mbbc.edu. If you guys have any questions about this coming year, concerns you may have, PLEASE comment and ask about it. We would love to help you out in any way that we can.

So, what to do first? To help get you started on commenting, I would love for all the new students to comment giving your name, where you are from, and what your major will be this coming fall at MBBC. :)

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you girls! I am praying for you already!

From Sarah Jones:

Hey you guys! Thanks so much for praying for my family it's been a rough week! We went on vacation for two weeks to Europe to see my brother get married, came home found out my grandma was in the hospital and week later she past away. Talk about an emotional roller-coaster. But the roller-coaster didn't stop, my mom called me from work this morning to tell me my cousin Charlie got in a bad car accident in Pheonix and passed away last night around midnight. My family needs a lot of prayer right now. Thanks you guys!
